Quake rattles organ recital in NZ

Ever wondered what an earthquake would sound like in your church? Maybe not. But if you have, today is your day. Last week a strong earthquake struck deep in the crust offshore of New Zealand’s north island. The 236 kilometer deep earthquake did no substantial damage on account of its great depth, but it was felt firmly across a wide swath of the country. An organist in Wellington was recording a piece when the quake rolled through, rocking St. Peter’s church, flexing the rafters, and swaying the organ pipes.
